- WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION (SMP)?
Scalp Micropigmentation (also known as SMP) is a non-surgical solution for people who suffer from hair loss or thinning hair. SMP inserts natural pigment deposits through the dermal layer of the scalp to create the illusion of natural-looking real hair.
- HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
Our treatments are carried out in 3 sessions to achieve the most natural, guaranteed results. Because we are working with your skin (the largest organ on the body) some of the pigment will be rejected following the first treatment. Although you’ll see results after the first treatment, the following treatments complete the look and add those all important finishing touches.
- HOW LONG IS EACH TREATMENT?
This varies for each person. The first treatment is usually the longest (from 2 to 4 hours) as we are constructing the hairline and foundation layer. Each following treatment is usually shorter, but this can vary.
- I'VE HAD 3 TREATMENTS, NOW WHAT?
Follow the aftercare advice and enjoy your results! Some clients like to freshen up their look after 18 months with a top up, but this varies from client to client.
- WILL I NEED TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK?
You only need to follow the aftercare advice supplied by your practitioner. There is no downtime required from scalp micropigmentation. It is a non-invasive and nonsurgical procedure.
- WILL PEOPLE BE ABLE TO TELL I HAVE THE TREATMENT DONE?
After the first treatment, pigments seem more obvious but you will notice that the pigments soften overnight. The intensity of redness depends on how sensitive the skin is but most clients will see any redness disappear after 48-72 hours. Following this settling period, the results will look completely natural.
- IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION PAINFUL?
Pain tolerance varies from client to client. But SMP is much less painful than having a tattoo. We prioritise your health so that the treatment is as stress-free as possible.
- CAN SMP CONCEAL SCARS?
Scalp Micropigmentation isn’t just for hair loss. We also use it to effectively camouflage scars from surgeries or injuries.
- HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
